Ghetto Glamorous Turbands Are In! <3

I’ve been obsessed with fine tuning the idea of the hair turband for a long time now, but I lacked a few key items. I didn’t have a sewing machine and I didn’t know how I was going to bring to life what I had imagined in my head. A couple of months later, a new sewing machine via craigslist, some amazing ghetto-glam sequin embellished material and voila…. LUNIACSTYLE HAIR TURBANDS!  I’m so excited to show you all the few that I made up today… I have many more ideas for these turbands, but I really wanted to show you a few! Some are in the shop right now for sale and many more to come! Perfect gift for that glam glam girl in your life!

Ethereal Charms: A Love Story, for your ears!

Now, don’t get me wrong people… I LOVE/ADORE/LIVE FOR  huge, doorknocker, ghetto fabulous, funkdified earrings. But honestly, sometimes it’s sweet to just throw in a pair of simply stated gems. I love the romantic feeling of a lightweight, long earring, gently grazing your collarbone. It’s just so sexy.

So here they are. A new collection: ETHEREAL CHARMS. Find them at LuniacStyle.etsy.com soon!

Shop consignment!

Ladies never underestimate the power of a consignment store! I remember when I was younger and my mom would shop for me in consignment stores I was embarrassed, someones used clothes..ew!! I knew they were nice labels and because my mother shopped at these kinds of stores, we were able to go on fabulous vacations and do all the fun things a family wanted to do. Well now later in life I have fallen in love with it all over again!! Now the outfit I am wearing today is all consignment, well besides the basics :) I am rocking a brand new pair of j.crew matchstick jeans from Pennywise in mystic, connecticut for $15 one of my new favorites! Now my sweater I got yesterday from one more time in Wakefield for total of $12! So for $27 I got a outfit that would have cost $80 or more! You may have to scan the racks and maybe they are from last season but if you buy classic pieces it won’t matter. Some of my favorite shops are all around RI
Flip boutique in West Warwick
Never Enough East Greenwich
Pennywise in Mystic CT
Second Time Around Providence
The French Bulldog Boutique in East Greenwich and the best part about The French Bulldog & Flip Boutique is that you can find Luniacstyle!

An Important Cause: Stomp Out Domestic Violence

Many of you may not know that I was a social worker for 7 years working with teens in various non-profit, grant funded, educational and preventative programs. Helping and empowering people  in our community has always been a priority. Once I decided that I wanted to commit to LuniacStyle full time, I wanted to make it a personal mission of mine to support local and national causes where I could. Donating, participating and being able to incorporate my creative nature with my socially conscience side has really humbled and inspired me. Thankfully I have been able to work with people who feel the same way about combining community causes with creativity and fashion.

On October 16th, LuniacStyle is proud to be a part of Stomp Out Domestic Violence – A Fashion Show.

“Come watch local models strut down the runway wearing designs from 5 local designers and fashion from 5 local boutiques. There will be an auction, purple carpet photos and free dessert buffet. There will be general seating, VIP seating and Platinum VIP seating. All proceeds go to The Women’s Center of RI.

See designs from Kara Wickman, Kelly Eident, Maria Mercado, Unspoken Word Designs by Makala Fields, LuniacStyle and Toni Lyn Spaziano. Check out the latest styles from Sonya’s , Gossip, Luli, Rock and Rose and Frills of East Greenwich. Also, enjoy a fashion showcase by Chip Douglas with clothing from Crack Artist and Area 4zero1 and a performance by Creature. VIP ticket holders will have the chance to meet designers and browse some of the boutique fashion in the VIP room.
Visit stompoutdomesticviolence.org to purchase your tickets online”

This post is written to encourage you to take a moment, check out the website, and participate in some way. Come see incredible fashion, donate (if you cannot make it to the event), or even share this event with your facebook friends.  Any amount of love for this cause is apprieciated and welcomed.

Thank you,

Jaclyn

Chicago Chic!

This past weekend I got to take a little adventure to visit one of my besties in the great city of Chicago! It was an amazing trip filled with memories, laughter, great food, good company and of course… the fashion! It’s absolutely undeniable! What I noticed most is that all the women there all looked so chic and put together. They walked to and from work like they were working the runway. The vintage boots, cozy sweaters, skinny jeans and of course all of their ACCESSORIES! I loved it! It inspired me to get dressed up and embrace the cold season coming.I put together this little ensemble that really embraces the feeling of Chi-town!

All of the items featured here can be purchase online through etsy. Enjoy!
