Ghetto Glamorous Turbands Are In! <3

I’ve been obsessed with fine tuning the idea of the hair turband for a long time now, but I lacked a few key items. I didn’t have a sewing machine and I didn’t know how I was going to bring to life what I had imagined in my head. A couple of months later, a new sewing machine via craigslist, some amazing ghetto-glam sequin embellished material and voila…. LUNIACSTYLE HAIR TURBANDS!  I’m so excited to show you all the few that I made up today… I have many more ideas for these turbands, but I really wanted to show you a few! Wacky..Crazy..Betsy.

She is nothing short of crazy, she loves anything glitter, and who can forget her over the top hair (she sounds like she could be my new best friend)! But Betsy Johnson knows whats up. Her style of over the top glam makes anyone look and feel like a million bucks and is sure to get everyones attention.

The looks for her Spring 2012 show were just what the doctor ordered, bubble skirts, bustier and leopard print bras under sheer tops made me fall in love with her all over again. I know people may look at her collection and think I could not wear this but wait, think again. All you need to do it just take one piece and pair it will something a little more muted and… voila! You have a little bit of Betsy! Now all you need is a killer headband to throw in your head and you are good to go! My favorite look from the evening were these high waisted shorts with a tie front sheer top. You can separate the two items and have two completely different  outfits.

Pair the shorts with a solid sheer black tank and you have a perfect spring time look.  I like this one from AshleyjanexOxO!

Then  with  high waisted flared jean and the sheer tie front top you can go from day to night in that outfit! Check out these from Omavintage ( they are even cropped so you can pair them with your favorite wedges!)

Providence, You So Fine….

This weekend I had a little bit of free time to actually go shopping while also dropping off some inventory at Queen of Hearts (check out this shop ya’ll, it’s insane!) during  the Providence Downcity Art Fest. There were so many great artists, amazing talent, and some super duper finds there. Check out this rolling rack vintage shop Find Gyspy... so amazing.. Gorgeous finds, so unique,  very reasonable, and goes really well with some LuniacStyle Jewels!

 I was really happy to take some time out to look rather than sell for once!   I got to see my friend, and jeweler extraordinaire, the lovely, Miss Amber Bettenz of Silver Tides Jewelry. This girl is such a motivation for me in the jewelry business. She made me see that it’s possible to do what you love, and make a living out of it. Plus, her jewelry is crazy beautiful, and all original. Check it ladies!

 Then I got to chat with the amazingly talented and crazy fierce Larkin, of Larkin and Larkin. The feathers, the crystals, the designs all tell you what you need to know about  Miss Larks. She is divalicious (not in the bad Whitney kind of  way, but more like the amazing way of Diana Ross), she’s super inventive, and fires me up every time I see her. Talking with her for  few minutes makes me feel like I could run the world.

Comfy..cozy..nice and toasty :)

So I am going out on a limb here and stating that I am over summer and not so patiently waiting for fall 🙂 I am a huge fan of the cozy fall afternoons, the smell of the crisp leaves on sunny mornings, and who can forget the pumpkin spice coffee that comes out this time of year?! But I think one of the best parts has to be the sweaters. Now, in winter you need to bundle up with layers upon layers of clothing, but in the fall you can throw on a long sleeve t-shirt and a sweater and you are good to go. So my advice for you today is to go and pull out those boxed up articles of clothing that you have hidden in the back of the closet because I know after the last winter we had, I swore I was never going to look at another warm piece of clothing again! After you have dusted off those moth balls take a look at what you have.  I know for me the chunky-ier ( I may be making up a word here) the better! I love this one from Ovejanegra 

Ugh just the look of it makes me want to curl up with a good book! So you have the sweater now you need something that ties it all together, and what better then some CRAZY beautiful earrings!!! I love the look of these, hair up or hair down they are sure to make a statement! And they have my favorite colors from fall!
